Brainstorming on big turbo set-ups for my 2011 A5 2.0Tfsi (Valve-lift). Wanting to get some input on the pros and cons/possibility of running a t3 flange turbo manifold with an external wastegate and a t3/t4 hybrid turbo.

    t3/t4 trim:57 rated for 475hp

    Mainly needing input on
1.) am i super far off and is this going to be way more expensive than i think? under or over 3k?

2.)What cfm intercooler should i look into

3.)Before you recommend i get a Ko4, ko3/ko4 hybrid or anything that has a one piece hot side keep in mind my goal is in the ballpark of 4-450 awhp.

4.) what kind of tune will this require simple remap/reflash or full on stand alone?

5.)Am i missing any supporting mods other than new injectors, hpfp, intercooler, downpipe, and intake.

If your'e brave enough to take this one on i commend you!

What are you looking at for an upgraded fuel pump? Also I would suggest you go for one of the more updated turbos, something with billet compressor wheel like an EFR or a precision turbo.

3k is a pipe dream. Lol. I would budget 6-7k all said and done. That’s what my last turbo build cost me.

this is the hpfp upgrade. I read on Apr that the ko4 2.0tfsi upgrade requires that the hpfp be upgraded as well as the injectors.

Also i was wondering what the benefit of the billet it as well as the cons of the t3/t4 because it seems pretty cost effective/ fitting for the hybrid layout.

Okay, so for one, that fuel pump upgrade is for the mk5/ B7 FSI (model years 2005-2007) 2.0t engines, which run an entirely different head and different fuel pump. The B8 fueling issue is a whole different animal.

Billet wheel vs. cast wheel difference is weight. Lower point of inertia in the RPM range. Better spool, better powerband.

If you are still figuring out the basics I would honestly take a step back from this and do more research before you spend any money.

There's tons of info on the S3 sections of various forums and that'd be a great place to start.
