    Memory seat issue

Memory buttons are set by prior owner. For some reason I can't seem to reset them. Follow simple instructions but when I hit and the memory button and any number the seat just goes to the existing settings. Am I missing something? Could this just be a faulty memory switch where the M button is not working properly to register the new position setting? Thanks.

    might be a bad switch
best thing to do to get the troubleshooting process started, get a vagcom scan done, might reveal something

Thanks for the reply. Nothing on vagcom. May just pick up a switch. I can try taking it out and spraying a bunch of electrical cleaner in there and see what happens. This is a new platform to me so wasn’t sure if there was some kind of idiosyncrasy with these cars?

    Memory seat issue

Sorry, but I can’t tell from you post, but are you holding the memory and number buttons simultaneously? If you just press the memory button and release it and then press a number button it won’t work like that.

Here is the procedure paraphrasing the manual:

    - Adjust drivers seat.
    - Adjust outside mirrors.
    - Adjust steering column.
    - Press memory button and hold. At the same time press one of the three numbered recall buttons for at least 1 second.
    - Release the memory and recall buttons.

The positions are now assigned to that paricular recall button and stored in the memory.

If you are doing it just like that and still nothing changes, then I’d say pull off the door card and check/clean the contacts and go from there.

    New switch did the trick.

Also installed a new dome light with telematics. Will be doing a retro fit with microphone. Have to look into the On-star and emergency features.

Have some wiring that I need to sort out as it looks like perhaps some part of it was used previously.
