ALS Issue - Q5 Lowered on KW H.A.S - need some input please

So I’ve had our Q5 lowered on the KW H.A.S system for about 18 months. We ran into an issue where the primary control module for the ALS system failed and the headlights dipped straight down 5-8’ in front of the vehicle.

Now that the module is fixed, I’m being told that the vehicle is “too low” and that is the reason we no longer have adaptive headlights that turn into the corners. I know this isn’t true, as they worked prior to the module failure without any issues and the Q5 is not that low compared to stock height.

Looking for input and suggestions from those that are running Q5s lowered and have the ALS on their cars.

    Cheers-

I LOVE the look of your Q5! Such a unicorn. I get quite emotional over black optics and those wheels.

Ok, I'm better now. Isn't there some coding for this system that teaches the "new normal"?

    Q5 Lowered on KW H.A.S w/ALS issue

First, thanks...this is all my wife’s...she ordered it and decided what she wanted. The wheels are the winter setup for here in Colorado. It’s truly a unicorn in its color and that it doesn’t have a Panoramic roof, we were told by an Audi USA rep that ours was the only one in 2015 ordered the was it was.

So the issue with that is in 2015 they combined a group of control modules into on unit. I can no longer access the headlight range #55 through VCDS. I’m starting to wonder if I need to step out and purchase Vag Can to be able to do more things in the newer Audi’s.

I had a similar issue when I dropped my A3... turns out we had one of the back level sensors flipped around backwards... flipped it, ran through a calibration with Vag-com and life was good again.

Edit... just read you can't access headlight range, I'd have to go do some digging again to see where the calibration stuff was unless you know.
