    S5 Sportback vs C43

    Hey Guys,

    I owned a B5S4 and B7S4. Then had a Jeep SRT.

Looking for a daily and considering an S5 Sportback along with a C43.

    I have a 996 & e36 as fun summer cars.

Has anyone shopped these two cars? Pros/cons you have found would be appreciated.

Loved the Jeep. Bought it new in ‘15. White over the tan.

I shopped both before I purchased the s5 along with the 440i gran sport. I was able to rule out the BMW quickly as it wasn't a good fit for me. So on the S5 and C43 styling was close as I have likes and dislikes about both. The drive train on both were very close but the C43 exhaust was way better IMO. For me the ride and handling in the S5 was slightly better for my tastes. In the end I could have flipped a coin and been very happy with either except the interior. The interior feel, layout and overall comfort was far better in the S5 and that was the deciding factor for me.

The C43 is marginally slower, if that is any factor in your decision. The S5 is significantly under rated in power if you are wondering how its possible a 362/384 gets beat by a 354/369

According to Car and dRIVER the C43 is actually quicker and faster, specially with the 9 speed:

    C43 with 9 speed. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...an-test-review
