Stopped @ my local dealer re some routine service & asked the SA wh to change the fuel filter as I could not find the answer in my manual. SURPRISE. There isn't any! How long has this been going on or is this just an AUDI thing? Anyone ever had a fuel problem because of not having filter?

There is a fuel filter. It's located in the tank by the low-pressure fuel pump assembly. PN for your B8.5 is 8K0201511TA

Those instructions are for a car equipped with a diesel (1st instruction of Step 2 says to fill new filter with diesel).

Yeh don't, its not designed to be serviced like a normal fuel filter is, and the guy doing it in the video is retarded for dumping gas everywhere. That car is going to stink of gas for WEEKS.

No, run it down as far as you can first. I changed mine at 100k, not a huge job just make sure to buy a replacement ring, you'll probably break yours taking it off.

Thx for all the replies. Ck w/my local indy guy. Fuel filter & fuel pump are both in the tank. He recommended replacing the tank that comes with both the filter & pump. I would guess that the VW saves $$ this way.

This fuel filter is the kinda thing you only do preventatively when youre bored or have 200k miles. If this was a 90s Honda it would take about 5 minutes. Since it looks like you have a 2014 I say this is way overkill.
