2018 s5 exhaust sound

So I've been driving a 2018 S5 as a loaner for a couple of days now, and I love the sound of this car.
It makes me wonder if it's possible for a 2010 s4 to sound like that?
Does the xpipe mod that has been discussed on this forum sound anything like that, or do I have to go with a full exhaust system like miltec?

It's quite possible, but it's still not a bad sound even in comfort mode, and if I'm not mistaken, I dont think that setting uses the soundakator.
Either way, nice sounding V6.

The B9 S stock exhaust does sound better than the B8.5 S exhaust from the outside; not sure about the inside due to the Soundkator. That is the thing I miss most about my B7 A4 3.2L vs. my B8.5 S4. That 3.2L exhaust is sex.

My dad has a 2018 S5 sportback and I had the chance to drive it along the gulf of mexico from florida to texas. In my opinion, my 2010 S4 exhaust sounds better (I have the x-pipe mod). At highway speeds, the S5 drones, and the ZF8 transmission doesn't make the exhaust note during shifting as exciting as our cars. From the outside, however, you can hear the turbo spool faintly (of course his is completely stock), which I am never tired of. All in all, I think the B9 S model exhaust sounds dull and droney compared to our cars. Would you agree?

Not at all actually, my S4 has no exhaust modifications, and I find the 2018 S5 to be way more throaty, even with the soundakator off.
Having played with it a bit now, with the drive select in individual mode, everything in dynamic mode expept the engine sound, that was in comfort mode it was still a better sounding car. There is no dsg fart for obvious reasons, but the overall sound I'd good, and in the cabin, I didn't hear any drone. It's actually very comfortable.

Alaskan....I'm going to be shopping for an S5, maybe 2019 and the consensus from what I've read is the exact opposite. Of course it's going to be pretty subjective, but I've heard the sound is way ahead of the previous S cars with the 3.0 supercharged. This is also after the soundaktor has been shut off. Drone you say?

Whatever you are hearing in the cabin of on a loaner S5 is from the Soundakator. I have to admit, it definitely sounds better than a stock b8 s4/s5, but it is artificially generated.

I'd be shocked if Audi made a stock car with exhaust drone. Maybe the sound that bothered you was coming from something else?

I had an A7 with 3.0 SC engine. Bored to death after 15 mins.

You all might be right about the soundaktor. And of course, I might be biased since I haven't had the x-pipe installed for very long, still get major boners from the sound. Next time im driving his car, ill turn the soundaktor thing off and report back.
