    Stock Piling Parts

Is anyone stock piling parts, either hard to find or outrageously expensive ones. Given some of the RS4 parts are used on other model lines does this make sense to do? just asking.

What sort of parts are you planning to stock pile?

Get coil overs.. 034 isn’t going to stock producing control arms anytime soon if I have to guess..

I don’t see the need any time soon.

If you think about older RS models, you can come to a very simple conclusion. Are parts for the RS2 and b5 RS4 still available from VW/Audi to purchase? Yes.

Right and those were produced in lower numbers using fewer cross-over parts I’d imagine.

Lol.. you are stock piling non-wear parts? How many exhaust tips you expect to blow through? Think you are missing the pint.. or I am.. no idea.

Wear parts will be available for a long time. Brakes, control arms, shocks etc. It is the unique parts which will NLA and hard to find. I can get anything mechanical for my 85 6 Series. What I can't buy is a new rear spoiler (dryer out rubber edge) or a set of factory floor mats.

The extra exhaust tips were going the be used if I got a Capristo exhaust.

I also have a new set of 034 control arms, front and rear rotors, extra brake pads, Belt and tensioner, stainless brake lines, oil filters, air filters, cabin filters and a couple extra belly pans.

I guess.. also the stuff that you don’t really need to replace if the car is taken car of. Can always have a carbon fiber parts guy make you a set of engine covers etc.. but I guess if you plan to drive the car for another 20 years, it’s an issue.

If anything I think an extra solid, reasonable low mile long block would be a good thing to stock pile.

The carbon engine covers, if pulled right away when new (no yellowing), will be worth something someday. So will pristine Euro seats and Euro steering wheels. Other than that, eh.
