The seats sell for 5k alone. I don't mind a car that's been written off. I'm currently daily driving a 04 Lexus es330 that was "totalled". I got it for $1020 and I know it's service records. I've been working on it for years. I just did a TON of work(timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, alternator, axel, etc) to it before it went into the ditch. All it did was bend the radiator support and cracked the bumper lol.

It's legal if you use the S4 shell. You could put an entire RS4 inside of it, but it won't be a wide body. You could just do that now with a us market sedan if you had the cash. You might get away with a dash vin swap, but if you got in an accident, or were pulled over by an overzelous cop that knows better, you could get in serious trouble. The vin is stamped in big letters right on the firewall, among other places.

Yeah I understand. I wouldn't bring one over just for the inside, I would do entire quarter panel and Fender swap. I wouldn't change the VIN number as that is a federal crime LOL

A few years back I was reading in a car magazine about in California there were several Nissan skylines running around. The R34 model that you still can't import because it is not old enough yet. When DOT Got wind of it, or whoever it was, they came and started pulling them out of parking lots with flatbed trailers and crushing them.

Yea that was the Motorex days. They tried to get away with only crash testing a r33 gtr and then importing the r32 and r34 because they were similar. Most people who bought those cars were lucky as they got a waiver from the DOT that allowed only those cars that were imported illegally from that company to stay in the states. Most ones you see on craigslist without the waiver are illegal. I've been looking at getting an r32 recently lol

What a beautiful Car! My utmost #1 Dream car(realistic dream car that is) is an RS6.

I've long debated buying an allroad or s6 avant and doing a complete interior/exterior swap using a real RS6 . Problem is, I'd have to go over myself and do the disassembly myself. Not only would it be too expensive to have someone else do it, but I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing my large amount of money and/or car is in someone else's control. Lol

I believe there are a bunch of stuff that's different from EU to USA. Not everything conforms to US DOT standards.
Not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure since the newer models haven't been brought to the USA, they have to crash a couple of them to prove they meet crash standards.

That or you can wait what is it... 25 years? And import one then..
