Either that or get that tensioner replaced, I think they are on revision 3 now. I have a friend with a 2010 Q5 with the 2.0t in it , he just had the tensioner and all chains replaced as a precautionary measure ( 200K km ) as he plans on keeping the car. To the tune of 2200 dollars CAD ...

2nd gen revised (2012+) are better.

well I'm not sure its the same motor but there used to be a 4.2 in my C5 series . That thing was friggen rock solid and made tons of torque.

Perhaps you’re right. Maybe he didn’t hear about the crap resale value of the S4 due to grenading timing components and the sheer number of A4’s over S4’s would probably edge it out. 😀
