    Suspension noises

Starting to hear a clunk from my suspension. After inspecting it looks like the bushings on my sway bar end links are going bad. Wondering if I should only replace the end links or buy a full kit and replace everything?

The end links look like a simple job (famous last words). Is it a big job to replace everything else? (Control arms, tie rods, etc).

I'm starting to here the same noise in my 2011 audi a6 3.0t Quattro but only when it's really cold out. Once the temperature gets around 40 the noise goes away.

Get the Meyle HD full kit (about $600 from FCPEuro) and replace everything. I did that not too long ago and don’t regret it.

Hey Sin, did you do the work? How long did it take and where would you put the difficulty level? Remember, I did swap the trans in mine, so one man's not to bad, is another man's piece of cake :)

I did the same as Sin.
Took me about 3 hours each side. Most difficult part was getting the curved lower control arm bolt loose on the wheel hub side. The CV boot gets in the way so you cant really get any sockets in. Make sure you have a 21mm or 13/16 wrench.

No problem... keep in mind to make sure suspension is under pressure when tightening curved and straight lower control arms on subframe side. Lift wheel hub up with a jack to the level you expect it to be when the car is standing on ground with wheels fastened.

Before you start tearing shit apart, measure from the center of hub to fender. It should be within .25-.5 of an inch side2side. If you are off by an inch or more, you will have premature wear of the bushing.

I did the same as Sin and mrismail but I paid a shop to do the work, I believe I paid $250 for the work and I got the kit from FCP euro like Sin did since they provide lifetime warranty on their parts.

Sorry for the late reply. I did not do the work myself, but I observed the entire process to learn. It really doesn’t look to be too difficult. Seeing as you did the transmission yourself, you have the tools and mechanical ability to tackle this job.

I'd recommend doing all of them. Reason is if certain bushings are reaching their failure point, you can be fairly confident others are not far behind.
