I'm always hearing about how high repair costs are on Audis. Engines, transmissions, modules, etc. costing thousands more dollars to replace over more common brands.
I bought the S3 with the hope that since it shares platforms and drivetrains with the VW Golf, it would translate to cheaper components in the long run when the warranty is up.
What I'm getting at is if my 6 spd DSG fails at 90k miles, is it still going to cost $10k+ like the trans on an Audi exclusive (S4, A6, etc) model? Are Golf R costs this high?
Debating about whether or not to buy an extended warranty, really.
