    ABS Issue 2004 Allroad 2.7

So yesterday Iím rolling north on I-75 N at about 65mph. All of the sudden the car decelerates to about 30mph.
The dash lights up with ABS, esp stabilization and leveling suspension.
It took me about a half a mile to get to a safe place to pull over. By the time I do the brake peddle is floored, hard as a rock and I have a large smell of burning brakes and smoke coming out of the wheel well.
Talk about an Oh crap moment in traffic.
Anyway I had the car towed and now awaiting a call with a diagnosis.
Anyone else ever experienced this, if so what was the cause ? Failed ABS module ?

Newb to Audi Allroad here so some of my references may be off.
So drivers side front and passenger side rear calipers are currently stuck engaged.
Worse case $1138.00 for both electrical and mechanical portions of the ABS controller to be replaced with used 1 year warranty parts.
IF, he replaces only the electrical parts the price drops by $400 plus change.
Does this sound reasonable for the amount of work and typical parts pricing for ABS systems ?

Well got the car back two nights ago after replacing both the mechanical portion and the module and all seemed well, until this morning.
On my way to work I went to apply the brakes. The peddle went all the way to the floor with no back pressure. Fortunately I was at a very low speed when it happened.
Gathered my thought drove a little further at a slow rate and the same thing. Do it again and I now have brakes.
No idiot lights are lit on the dash.
I drove cautiously back to garage and the mechanic is scratching his head seeing the brakes have not done it since.

    Any thoughts ?

Brake master cylinder failure, improper bleeding come to mind. Also the ABS pump needs to bled after brakes with vagcom.

SteelyS6 I believe you nailed it on every account. They bled the brakes and seems fine but the owner asked if I minded if he drove it more over the weekend. He also mentioned the master cylinder but wanted to try the bled route first.
He stated he did not feel
Comfortable putting me back in the vehicle without a little more drive time.
    Provided me
With a loaner for the weekend.
Thank you for your input, very much appreciated.

Master cylinder was the final issue that was replaced.

Wow what a scary experience! That was pretty cool of your shop to look out for you with a loaner and ensure the car was safe. Then again, a catastrophic accident like failed brakes after it being "fixed" could definitely be quite a lawsuit. lol. Glad you got it taken care of.

Interesting side effect of the aforementioned work being completed. Before this work was done my suspension was causing the compressor to come on even when the car was not running and it would drop to the lowest position.
I have had it in the #3 position ever since The repair was completed and the car has remained at the same height and the compressor has not come on either when running or turned off.
I had contemplated removing it prior to the work being completed.
    Not anymore given the status.
