Question Seeking a 3.0t (or a way to fix mine)

    Hello,

    I have a B8 S4- 2010 year with some light modifications.

A month to a month and a half ago the engine seized up.
When I took it apart, the fourth bearing on the crank showed signs of having seized and spun.
This observation combined with metal shavings in the oil pan and a frozen crank lead me to believe
that it would be cheaper to purchase a new engine than try to fix this one.

The car was running both TCU and ECU programming, by Unitronic.

So, I am basically looking for a 3.0 to purchase, hopefully without extreme high miles.

Also, when I took my engine out I noticed that both my cat's were completely burnt out with no catalyst remaining, but
the CEL or oxy sensor never threw a code or showed up.

    Thank you!

Can you elaborate more on the issue on the main s4 forum? I'm curious what led to it, any data logging prior (assuming the car would of ran terribly with a blown cat) and mileage/how long on the tune etc. I think this will be very helpful information for our platform.
Good luck with the repair/new engine, I've seen them around the $3 to $4.5k range from time to time.
