    Remove factory iPod adapter

My 2006 Cabriolet came with both CD changer as well as an iPod interface. I have looked and looked and do not see any plug to connect the CD changer in the glove box, but it looks like the iPod adapter is spliced into the harness where I *think* is the CD changer harness.

Question is, do you think I can simply remove the iPod harness and replace it by splicing in the CD Changer harness? I have no need for the iPod adapter, but the CD changer could be handy for me.

*note: I already installed an aux adapter.

So the connection in the glove box is for either CD changer or iPod dock. All cars with RNS-E came with one or the other. Cars with the in dash 6 CD has the option for the iPod dock.

My car has the 6 CD changer in the glove box as well as the iPod adapter. When I bought the car, the CD changer didn't work, so I removed it and turns our that there's no wiring for it. The iPod adapter looks like it's spliced into the harness which I would expect to be for the CD changer. This splice *appears* factory (same kind of tape and all), but it is in lieu of the connector for the CD changer (not the same connectors). My question is, can I remove the iPod connector and splice in a CD changer connector and have an operational CD player?

I ordered the factory connector off of eBay. Unfortunately without knowing which wires got spliced to which I don't think that i'm going to be able to make this happen. I disassembled the harness, and there's many unused wires, but I couldn't match the wire colors from the loom in the car to the CD changer harness, so I spliced back in the iPod adapter.

Post pictures of what you have. Does the radio recognize the adapter in any way? I have a feeling that I am not understanding what you are saying. So its easier if I see it.
