Its been a long time since I've logged on in here. I've had a handful of B6's over the last 10 years since my first DG sedan. Currently, I have a 2005 Brilliant Red USP Avant.
Backstory - I purchased the avant early winter 2017. It holds a Reconstructed title. Before I owned it, it was hit in a parking lot, bad enough to require a hood and new headlight housings + paint. Insurance totaled it, it was bought back and repaired. I dont believe the damage was severe at all, but it has the lighting package and OEM xenon replacements nearly outvalue the a b6, through insurance's eyes.
Last month, it was street parked and hit again. I first thought it was a plow, because it was snowing pretty bad and the markings made me initially think plow, but Im still not sure, and exhausted all efforts of getting any video of evidence of who hit it. it was hit from the rear, but in the quarter panel. It was hard enough to break the wheel and push the wheel hub assembly forward/in (toe)
I am having a difficult time getting the rear left toe to align. I have removed the wheel, disconnected the axle, and removed the wheel knuckle/spindle, as well as the upper control arm and tie rod. Having never worked on the rear suspension of any of my A4's, I learned along the way, specifically how the toe is adjusted during an alignment.
I have done what I can without removing the lower control arm and replacing it, as I cant remove the eccentric bolt towards the front of the car without lowering the rear sub frame.
The lower control arm, rear subframe, upper control arm and tie rod, and spindle, all appear to be undamaged and not bent, went compared to the replacement parts i bought from a non-damaged parts car.
Before I drop the subframe this weekend, i hope to find someone with similar experience with the rear of the b6, who can let me know anything i may be overlooking, or point me in the direction of what I should be looking at in this situation
