Most comfortable riding suspension - wheel gap edition!

So my 02 Avant has 111k. As far as I can tell all the suspension is original. I can tell the shocks are tires, and I can only assume the ball joints/bushings are as well. I plan on doing some refreshing this summer. Ideally I love the way the stock 02 sport suspension looks, but I can't find anyone selling a set of springs to save my life . Next best option is aftermarket, however I really want to keep the ride as comfortable as possible. I have absolutely 0 desire to have any kind of tuck. Winter setup is stock size (215/60?/16) snow tires, for the summer I might switch to the all season tires the car came on if I can't find a good deal on some OEM+ 17, or 18" wheels. That being said, what do you guys think is truly the most comfortable springs out there. I was just going to order some Bilstein replacement shocks on Rock Auto since they seem to have great feedback on here.

I'm in the same boat as you with our 02 1.8t avant quattro. I was offered a set of sport springs once but for $300 which I thought was ridiculous. He justified his price because they are rare. I've considered Eibach prokit springs (paired with Koni FSD struts) but I think even those ride lower than OEM sport springs. I've heard 02 sport springs are a bit lower than any of the sport springs made after 02. I'd actually be fine with 03-up sport springs but finding them for a 1.8t avant still isn't easy.

I've also considered getting OEM sport springs from a sedan and getting front spring perches for B5 to have it sit level, since the sedan rear springs would sag a bit with the weight of the Avant's rear.

Curious to hear what responses you get. I really too want an OEM sport height and ride or as close to it as possible.

Vogtland cup kit, FCP control arms with solid tie rod ends, new strut mounts, end links, and the possibly other bushings "while youre in there" - Under $1,000 and will transform the feel and ride of your car.

The Vogtland cup kit will sit about 3/4"-1" above the stock wheels/tires. Perfect stance IMO.

I've had a combination of OEM (1BA) port springs and the Bilstein OE Sports (Part# 19-164472 Front & 19-164489 Rear) on my car for a few years and they're fine for my daily driver. My car had original 1BE spring and shocks. Have over 35,000Kms on them so far and other than the newly exposed winter ruts/potholes/cow pasture-ish roads, they're a good compromise, IMHO.

It's mind over matter. But if you don't have a mind, it really doesn't matter.
