Show me ( or us) your rear cup holders

Hello everyone,

Strange sounding post, I know. But there is an idea behind it. My new to me 2005 A4 cabriolet doesn’t have rear cup holders. When I saw the rear seat, I thought it had them but no go. It was the removable part that housed the first aid kit. That is cool, but I was looking for cup holders for the kids. I know, I could find something online that would work. I have found one idea, but most that are out there won’t work. But I am always looking to make things harder than they need to be when it comes to projects.

Was wondering if anyone out there that has a ragtop, and it can also be sedans, could send a pic of what your rear seat cup holders look like. I just started with this idea, so I’m not sure if I can swap the removable one and rig something for a real arm rest with cup holders inside yet or not. Haven’t messed with dimensions yet. But would love some ideas on what others have done out there.

Interesting i didn't think the b6 models apart from maybe the S4 came with cup holders in the rear. I mean look at our crappy cup holder in the front, basically soaks the entire radio and trim.

Technically, this did come from a S4 since some came with the Grey Alcantara you see but my A4 did come with rear cup holders as well.

There might have been a space issue with cabriolet seats which would be why it wasn't included. I don't know for sure.

Mine has rear cupholders as well. It also has a medical bag form fit to the inside of the rear armrest compartment. Pretty fancy.

I know. I use it sometimes, but only in no drip type cups. my kids think it is cool as it slides in and out, but Id rather have them in the console. And I love to use the armrest for my arm not drinks.

Yes, it appears the Cab rear seats narrow a bit more, so they must have ran out of room, but one would think add the armrest with cupholders and have the first aid in the trunk. pretty cool having both in there, though.

I'd love to rig an armrest with the cup holders where the existing one is. I'll see about engineering that someday. I'm also looking at some hidden ones that slide in and out of the sides, but not sure how much space there is behind there. Have to pull those off someday. I guess they didn't really want passengers in there. But I've had a few ragtops in the past, and now that I am closing in on 50, my wife laughs and said it was my mid life crisis

I have that one up front. That must have broke on the previous owner, and they lost the battle with the super glue. 😀. Need a new one. I’ve thought about a swap out.
