Good question, I was wondering the same. The barrel itself seems to be the clearance issue for a lot of 19's.

Found someone who will let me try them to see if they fit.

I had these wheels and they did not clear front calipers. They were too small.

The standard 20" wheels barely clear the calipers, so I figured the answer would be no. And it is. And even if they clear, you don't want a 1mm clearance anyway.

S4 19s do not fit. Certain aftermarket 19s do, it's all about the barrel size.

So even with spacers they wouldn't work due to the barrels?

It’s not the fri t of the wheel hitting the calipers it’s the calipers hitting the barrel of the wheel so impossible to make them fit without hacking up caliper with grinder.

Gotcha, that's a bummer 19" peelers are dime a dozen around here and I thought would make good winters as long as they would fit.

Anyone have insight as to which 19's do fit the S6/7's?

Hartman could be a possibility. Not a big fan of those blade reps, but they do fit, barely. They have other nice styles though, and could be worth investigating. it's just good to know if someone has actually tried to fit a particular set of 19's on these cars or not. A ton of websites including tirerack say their 19's will fit, but I highly doubt there's been any testfitting. Most cases they just go by the width and offset specs of the factory 19" with no clue if the barrel will clear or not.

There are 20” oem wheels for A6 with the triple spoke style, which might fit the S6.

Check your wheels. My guess is either those aren't s4 wheels or there are multiple barrel sizes over the years and some fit and others don't. I have a set in my garage that don't fit my 2016 s6.

Sadly I'd never find those used around here. We get a ton of snow / ice / sand / gravel throughout the very long winters (still snow on the ground) a new set like that would be marked to sh!t by the end of winter. Used 19's are easy to find though.

Brutal, ours are much of the same right now. One of the worst winters in recorded history has led to the wost road conditions I've ever seen in 20+ years driving, huge potholes everywhere and the city refuses to start fixing them until "winter" is over, global warming my ass. (Around here) Cheap 19's is definitely what I'm going with next winter.

    They fit !

Got there this morning for a try and they clear the caliper by 1/4", so with the slim weight there's 1/8" of room

So this is going to be my winter setup

I have a spare set of 19" S4 peelers that I currently run on my C6.5, and since it seems caliper clearance is more a question for S6/7 calipers, will these 19" peelers fit a C7.5 A6? Planning to have winter tires installed if I bring the C7 up to the mountains this season.
