The B6 axles will fall apart when your suspension drops. I think one of the B6 axles is close enough to use, the other will disappoint you soon when you don't expect it. Autozone usually has the manual A6 axles pretty cheap brand NEW. Like $50-$75 last time I bought them, and no core charge even. The passenger side axle should be a bitch to get in usually, there's nothing special about the swap except for some new profatity you come up with. If it went it super easy and you didn't have to fight it at all then the axle is too short.
Crap- you're in the Netherlands? Sorry...Autozone probably isn't going to help!! You shouldn't have a problem finding manual 01E Axles over there..!?
Yeah, trying to avoid buying stuff that's not from Europe. The customs charge quite a lot of money for importing.
I've found a set of used manual 2.7 axles on the German Ebay, sorted now, I hope.
Almost every A6 over here is an auto, so it's quite hard finding a good pair of axles.

Hard to find, almost every A6 has an auto trans over here.

If you get a set of remanufactured axles from Advance Auto or Autozone, they'll usually be a much higher quality than the new ones, and they're not super expensive. Plus, you can just stick the b6 axles in the box for the core.
Thanks man, but trying to avoid buying from outside of the US due to custom fee's.
