    Upgrading to the K04... questions

I am currently about to drop my K03 and install a K04. I want to use my current cat, for now, and I am wondering if the K04 will fit on a OE cat.

The K04-015 is a K03 with a 1-2mm larger compressor wheel (cant remember). All of the stock components will work (manifold, inlet pipe, etc) as it is designed as a mild upgrade over stock.

Expect about 15 extra peak HP over a K03 with a "big injector" tune, and a slightly more broad powerband.

It is indeed a gateway to more power lol. I love how my car pulls so hard off the line and around the city with the K04, but definitely leaves you wanting more up top. I know if I want over 300ft/lbs+ I'll have to do rods so its just a matter of committing to tearing everything down to support something bigger. I'm running 440's on a custom Malone tune so I should be OK on fueling but it'll probably run better on a 550 since the spray pattern is better for our 5v head.

yea, i'm going with 550 injectors and the stock fuel pump with motoza...can't wait till all my shit comes in...

sucks though, cause i'll be travelling A LOT for work until the end of june so i won't have time to install everything...i'm going to put together a comprehensive word doc with all of the bentley/hayes illustrations, torque specs, clearances, etc while i'm on the road to keep me busy until then...that way i can go into the job confidently since i've never tore a motor apart before...

Sounds like a solid plan of attack. 1.8's are easy. There's a bunch of youtube videos on how to tear them down and rebuild. Might be worth checking out if you want to give yourself a break from the word doc

already watched a few of those videos...my dad was a naval engineer so he was big on the whole measure twice cut once thing...the word doc is mainly for my own confidence going into the job and to make sure i don't mess anything up when going through the checklist of things to do...

Dont install a K04! save ur cash and get a GT series or something. WAY better. I had a ko4 and it was a waste. IMO

but for who usually drive in city
K04 is still a good little step up from ground

Quick spool, peak at 4k and slowly drop

DM me if you want it.

A GT2871r is much better than K04 in almost every way. Only thing i'm not a fan of is the lag but once it hits its awesome. still able to DD and you'll save money in the long term because ur not buying another turbo when you want to upgrade again. the most HP you can really expect is 200 to the wheels with the GT im at 260 WHP. Worth it imo.
