I have been gathering parts and whatnot for the last 4 months and have been without my car for the last 5. Long story short. I bought the car November of last year. Drove down to Phoenix to get it. Drove really great. Full awe stage 3 rods balanced and all the goodies that come with it. On Christmas eve I decided it would be a good idea to go do some donuts in the snow. Apparently this was the wrong time cause it was extremely slick out and I managed to slide right into a curb.

    20171225_201232.jpg

Picture is kinda dark but you can see tha damage.

Got some insurance money. A little not a lot and decided to just tear it down and make it faster than a normal k04 car.

    20180127_192641.jpg

Service position. Sat like this for a week. Then engine and everything came out.

    20180210_171524.jpg

Decide on bb k24s because of the Garrett name and rep. I don't want to have to do this again for a while. Got some 1000cc injectors and all the supporting mods.

Got everything stripped down. And was waiting on everything for a minute. I did not want to start this rebuild unless I had everything.

This is where I'm at now.

Pretty irritated about this. I'm almost positive the outlet isn't at the right angle.

Looks like you have got a good amount of work into this build already. Sucks about the Curb incident.

It looks to me atleast that maybe the turbo needs to be clocked a bit to center up to the piping.

If I clock it anymore the other way the coolant line gets in the way.

Does anyone know what the s shaped hose goes to in the inlet kits? If it's not needed I can cut that and make the hose fit the way it is.

I am not out in the garage at the moment but iirc it looks like you could trim the stock hose in order to get it to fit. Doesn't look too bad in the picture. Ideal? No, but def manageable. It can get frustrating though as these engines are already an extra 2lbs of shit too heavy for the bag they are suppose to fit in.

It looks like the hard pipe from the turbo to IC is wrapped, I don't recommend doing that, air exiting the turbo gets quite warm and cooling it is desirable.

But if I am already getting a new hose kit I shouldn't need it right?

if you are getting a hose kit from say 034, no, you will not need to buy it separate as the kit will have it.

The kit has lower hoses and the boost hoses coming off the outlets for the turbos. Cant recall if it has anything else but a quick search would tell you.

I am getting the autobahn88 kit. It looks like it's in there. I also have the old samco kit that I really don't want to use but will if I have to.

Any chance you have the hard pipe bolted on upside down? Try flipping it over and see if that solves you problem.

Can't put it on upside down. I am going to try the silicone hose that came in the kit and cut it down tonight and see how it sits. It's just one of those things of if it was a little more "correct" then it would be doable for sure. I'm going to mock up the starter and try it.

You're prob right but I could have sworn that I initially put mine on upside down, hmm maybe it was the drivers side. Either way, hopefully you get it sorted. I like you have been without my car for a while, getting close to being back on the road but these little inconveniences similar to what you're dealing with keep popping up. Seems like a never ending process lol!

It's almost impossible. The a.c. lines run underneath it. So putting it upside down is basically a no go

Def not the correct angle. Here’s more or less what it should look like, though a bit off.

I some how got a straight one to work. If the one upnone gets here I will install the 45 but until then this should work.

    20180422_182028.jpg

The outlet sits really close to the starter. Contemplating installing a new starter cause this would be a bitch to change in the car.

Trans installed. Jhm kit installed when it was rebuilt. If anyone in utah is looking to get any trans rebuilt I would highly recommend j&g transmission in salt lake. They do all the fleet trucks where I work and have been way more than excellent in customer service and quality of work.

    20180422_182018.jpg

Fully mounted up. I think I'm going to try and do a boost test with it out of the car and see what happens. Has anyone done this?

Downpipes wrapped. I got the tool to do the metal ties for the wrap and it doesn't work worth a shit. I ended up using a pair of pliers and a prybar.

    Cool.

I cheaped out and bought that shitty ass autobahn hose kit and while most of the hoses fit I'm pretty sure the lobster claws won't. Does anyone know if the 034 big bore work well with the stock y pipe?

So while installing my coil conversion I noticed that the adapter plate doesn't sit directly lined up with the hole.

I ended up doing the adapters like in the second pic. The coils wouldn't go in the first way.

Got injectors in. I thought they were plug and play but I guess I have to wire the new plugs on.

Is it ok to just butt connect the injector harness or do I need to solder the wires. I know that solder can create some resistance and what not or just buy the adapters. These injectors look to be Bosch cores so I believe I would need the ev14 to ev1. I'm I correct on that?
