    2009 3.0T Front Bumper Questions

    Hi All,

I have a 2009 3.0T that was in a minor front end accident this winter that crumpled the left front fender and the bumper. The fender was an easy replace with an aftermarket aluminum fender. The lower left corner of the bumper near the wheel was torn away in pieces, but thru the miracle of plastic welding (google it for bumper repair fascinating), I was able to piece it back together. Got it thru the winter, but now I need a fix.

My plan was to have an autobody shop skim the bumper with flex repair and then paint the bumper and the fender. Brought the car in to a few autobody places and they dont want to touch the bumper portion. Any options for a reasonable replacement bumper out there? Been searching online for a used bumper or maybe even an S-Line version. Saw a few posts that the S-Line is an option, and even a 05 - 08 pre-facelift would work. Has anyone done this before? I saw a used S-Line but it didnt have the fogs or a grille. Would the Facelift grille fit on the S-line version? How about the rectangle fogs fitting in the round fog space?

    Thank you for the feedback.

Had the same issue, and the shop did a plastic weld with metal reinforcements. So they take a wire type material and embed that on the pieces of plastic from the rear of the tear, like you are sewing cloth. When done properly, will hold up under normal use for years.
