The drag cars new motor setup looks pretty cool tucked in there nice and snugly. All 16 valves of fury.

sold dogbox to fund this setup. i am in this zero new money, i dont want to take anything from the tube chassis build fund.

this is a watered down version of the tube car, with the same air-shifted turbo 400 auto trans and RWD. i used a Lincoln MK8 aluminum 8.8" IRS third member, and made it all work with the CQ suspension/subframe/drivetrain. just waiting on the custom driveline, already had custom axles built using the Ford inners and Audi outers.
i cant use a domestic rear end with the 01E, as they do not turn the same way. thats how the tube chassis car came about in the first place; i just wanted to back-half and 9" / 4-link this car.

but both cars are going to be nearly identical so i can learn how to drive and launch this thing before i get into the big car. transbrake launches, bump staging, etc. gonna be a whole nother world from AWD i do believe. just want to slow down, run slower than 10.00 and under 135 miles an hour. jacket and helmet only, no full firesuit and gloves and boots and neck brace and license and chassis cert (although i have all of this). wanna go rounds and have some fun.

RWD needs to look the biz, so new wheels and tires

Are you going to be running an Audi power plant in another chassis?

    well, yeah thats the plan.

the chromoly tube chassis CQ i have been building for the past 4 years, it will still be 1.8T 20v stroker powered. GTX4508R 80mm billet turbo powered. big fucking tired car, 32+ tire diameter type big ass tire.

basically a Top Sportsman / Advanced ET chassis with a 122 cu/in 4 cyl VAG motor setup. goals are 7.80's in the quarter mile and around 175-180 mph.

its been a work in progress since Nov-ish 2013. should be out next year, 2019 season. it has been many thousands of dollars, and hundreds of hours in the building of it. i have built every single facet of this car myself, minus the welding as i do not TIG weld very well. i have stretched the wheelbase, opened the rear quarters 4", moved the front wheel wells forward 4-5 inches, built the narrowed 9" four linked rear end setup, every bit of this car i have done myself. i have done this at a REAL chassis shop with excellent tutoring or mentoring, however you want to call it. i feel VERY fortunate to have been able to get this experience int his fashion.
