Slightly overfilled oil on B7 RS4

Hey! This is a silly question, but just to be safe I'll go ahead and ask anyway; When topping up my B7 RS4 with oil I seem to have slightly overfilled it. It's not reached the metal on the dipstick yet, but its covering the "MAX" on the plastic. Is this "fine", or should I drain some of it out asap?

    Thanks!

Yep, I did this too....major idiot moment. My understanding is that from the bottom of the hatches to the top is about 1l, depending on the oil temp. It’s been a while since I looked but over on RS246, the theory is that overfilling can not only cause the oil to run hotter than normal but also over pressurize the system causing leaks and/or failures.

From your pic it looks like you’ve got 1.5-2 lts over. You’ve got two choices; drain and refill or use a syringe and a length of tubing to suck some out.

I would try to get it out asap.
Get one of those hand pump vacuums and suck it out when the oil's warm, saves having to deal with the belly pan.

Indeed, get some out before you start the engine! In addition to the above, oil may get in the cats (if you’ve still got them :-)), plug them and worse things may happens.

Didn't you see the "Nicht Uberfullen!". Anyway, as the others have said, remove the excess before starting.
