ACC - Resume with flow of traffic after automatic stop

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
The AudiUSA website description of ACC states “The stop and go function allows for automatic braking to a standstill and will resume with the flow of traffic.” My 2016 S7 with ACC does the stop function but does not automatically resume with the flow of traffic. To resume, I must touch the accelerator or lift the ACC lever to the resume position.

I would like to have this resume with flow of traffic feature on my S7. My Wife has it on her Tesla and I like it very much.

Is this something that is programmable? Can it be changed on my car??

    Thanks, Eric

The automatic resume is only for brief stops. I believe 3 seconds or less. If you come to a full stop that lasts longer than 3 seconds you have to initiate the resume manually.

I was mis-led by this as well, the sales associate was even commenting how ACC was improved over the last system because it had stop and go, To me stop and go means STOP and GO, seems simple but apparently with Audi that means you have to hit the gas pedal to go, what's even dumber is this can probably fixed with the simple update like Tesla does but since it's a new feature of their new models I'm sure we will not get any update.

Lol I love how pissed off you are over this true first world problem. If tapping the gas pedal is such an inconvenience you can also pull the cruise control stalk and the car will resume.

I believe there is a way to turn this on via VGCOM. I saw it somewhere but don't remember.

How long did you wait? It's slow to react but mine will eventually start off. I usually tap the accelerator so I don't keep traffic waiting behind me.

I use the ACC as a lazy man's auto hold in traffic. It keeps the brake lights on and isn't as aggressive as using the EPB.

You don’t have to press the gas to go again, just pull on the acc control joystick to get moving again.
