    Armrest Latch Clip Replacement

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
When looking at buying a new lid for my broken armrest I found that I can order just the latch clip from China for 1.60 an aliexpress. Has any replaced just the Broke clip instead of the whole lid?

    Did the clip
Today I found out it’s broken again
New lid is the same thing.
    Don’t bother in my opinion

I ended up replacing the entire lid for about $15 because the stapled leather ends were becoming undone. There are two different variants of lid/latches that aren't interchangeable.

I did. Worked great. Six months later it's still fine. Worth $6 imo if the cheap china ones don't work out for you.

I went through 3 different replacement covers until I got the right one. All were advertised as fitting my 2007 A4. Be prepared for the same with the clips.

Replaced only the lid for $2. It is not perfect fit as original, but works. Has been a year and still okay.

I bought the lid from amazon 2 years ago. Still works fine.

Looked at clip replacement, but really not worth the time to replace it.

Me too! A little more expensive, but worth every penny! The ones from china will break in no time.

I did, well over a year ago, probably closer to two - been fine ever since. Color (Platinum) was dead-on too...

Just make sure you order the right style, phone package (flat end) vs non phone package (rounded end)...

    Armrest Latch Clip Replacement

So the new latch protrudes 3mm longer. Did they send me the wrong one or are they all like this?

Thats the one I bought as a replacement, its fine, its a cheap knock off. I removed my arm rest, its useless to me and it gets in my way. Take it out, its amazingly roomy with it gone.

Got the same replacement, must be for the B6 but still fits regardless. Replaced my clip 1 year ago and no problems.

x2 for the Amazon clip latch. Has been great for 6 months. Just be gentle as they are just plastic and almost designed to fail.

In for the AL one if found again...

I am good with the cheap replacement latch so far. I think all these broken latches are caused by letting the lid slam shut. Close the lid slowly and it should last.
