    Jerk from 2-1 shift DSG

Noticed today when coming to a stop that my car would jerk or "clunk" a bit. Haven't gotten any gearbox warnings, check engine lights, etc...any idea what it could be? Thanks everyone.

Could be normal, but there's a lot of info on this subject. This is a start:

Yea. Really common problem solved by a tune and inserts. Probably 100 threads on it.

put on your flame suit as a search will bring back a ton on this.

Is a bit normal if your new to the DSG or could be an issue coming.

Thanks guys. I'd imagine if it were the mechatronic unit I would be getting a gearbox warning, correct? I am new to dsg as I just came from a b5 s4.

Are you or the car shifting from 2-1 while still moving? My car won't shift back to 1st (by itself) unless at a complete stop and is completely smooth. I think if you're still moving that the general consensus is that you should avoid manually down shifting to 1st with the DSG.

I downshift to first all the time. Great sound.

It does sound great... I try not to do it often to avoid stress on the DSG. I can't wait to go stage 2 so I have more pull at lower RPM's so I can pull harder in 2nd and avoid the urge to downshift to 1st LOL.

The car has to switch to first anyway upon slowing down. It’s designed to be able to switch through all gears hence the throttle blip. The perceived stress is due to bad programming and a mount that moves too much.

Beauty of computer controlled rev matching!

The car itself is shifting. I dont really keep it in the manual shifting. However, I didnt realize traction control was off...turned it on and now I haven't had an issue in the last 30 mins or so I drove it. Any connection between the two systems?
