Will unplugging the valves while they are open keep them open? After non-cat downpipes it really doesnt mute anything. Id like to just go full on and lock them open.

It will, but you will need the special plugs fitted to the end of the leads to stop the fault codes. I think AWE sells them.

OK. But there isnt a spring that keeps it naturally closed or anything right?

The C7 valves are a servo (motor driven). If the motor can't turn then the valve is locked in position. Remove the one on the rear right, to start with, and monitor it's position by looking down the tail pipe. Both valves should be open, when the car is parked.
