    smart key not recognized

Does this happen to anyone else? Cant remember exactly what it says but something to the extent of "key not recognized and to place it in the designated area" after I do or even move it around in my pocket the message seems to disappear until it feels like doing it again...

I just brought my baby to the dealer for her first oil change/service and they replaced the keyfob battery thinking that was the issue. All was fine on the ride home from the dealer, but as soon as I got back in the car to run some errands wouldn't you know it! key not recognized again! Its not the end of the world to pull the key out of my pocket and put it in the designated area, but after paying the price we do for our S4's you would think something so simple would be figured out.

If anyone is having this same issue or resolved it somehow please enlighten me.

I have an A4 and it happened to me about 6 or so times within the 1st month of taking delivery. I talked to the tech guy at the dealer and the 1st thing he asked me was if the key was in the same pocket with my wallet or credit cards. It was, so I now keep the key in a different pocket and haven't had it happen since, which is going on 3 months. He didn't explain what the underlying cause is, just that sometimes this can happen.

Then my wife reminded me that it happened to her in the Q3. Purse this time; she keeps her key in a side pocket of her purse and never had it happen since.

Still having issues. ill admit it is better without my wallet in the same pocket, but even with it sitting in its designated holder I still get the message on the dash
