    Loud Whistling Noise- Error Code

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What's up family. Just checking in with someone who may know what's going on with the car. Check engine light came on today. There is a loud whistling noise when I decelerate and continues until I accelerate or shut down the car. See Error Code below. If anyone has any insight or can point me in the right direction that would be wonderful. Thanks!

Sully, what are you driving? Unfortunately, many folks with a loud whistling noise on the 4.0T engines have had faulty oil separator/PCV replaced, which is an ordeal to get to. Otherwise, make sure you check you hoses for your air intake and that nothing is disconnected. Is your car still under any warranty?

Yes, unfortunately most likely. WhiteWhiteS7's DIY on replacing the oil separator is awesome and certainly doable in a weekend. If you aren't comfortable doing it after reading it, buy a new one that ends in 'E' (the part number on your current one likely ends in 'B') from audiusaparts.com and have an independent shop do it so you don't get crushed at a dealership.

Yea, I think it is the case. I would love to do it myself, but I'm at the mercy of time. Here is a video just in case you guys think it's anything else.

I got an estimate from one of the best euro mechanics in town and he said it would cost $1540. Not too bad considering the all the time it takes to get the actual part. I wish I wasn't so busy with work, it would have been fun to tinker with it all. Thank you to all that contributed to helping me find out the issue. Cheers!
