How do you get this stupid fog light collar back onto the housing?

I'm trying to replace my S4's fog light bulbs today and I got it off of the car very easily, but the stupid collar that goes around the bulb base does NOT line back up any way I can see to lock it back into the fog light housing. I'd really appreciate some help before I throw this piece of shit across the parking lot and burn the car to the ground.
