Has anyone yet figured out how to keep the wing up permanently ?

I saw ABT has a rear wing replacement, however the instructions clearly states "the rear wing must be decommissioned for the assembly of the ABT wing, YET it doesn't give any instructions on how to achieve this.

I gave the owners manual a look to see if a fuse was available but nothing related to the wing.

Its a bit frustrating to me at least, i would love to buy that ABT wing but if i can save $500 and just remove a fuse and keep the stock wing up i would do it in a heart beat.

I mean even if i purchased ABT wing I be stuck trying to figure out how to disable the stock wing

I wouldn't. every time I drop the trunk down with the spoiler up I fear I may damage it. I have to be very gentle when lowering my trunk to not damage it. but I also prefer to drop it when the spoiler is down

Every hatch I have owned has felt the same way. The glass is very heavy. If the instructions were to remove the motor, etc. that would make better sense to me. Imagine how much these struts struggle.

Maybe the ABT kit has a module that accepts the signal so it thinks the deployable spoiler is still there. You would think they would include everything needed to decommission it.

Have you tried asking ABT (sales would probably get you the fastest response :-))?
We have installed a few R8 ABT wings and they come with everything you need (except a “bit” of tools needed), down to a connector for the disconnected OE motor (which we totally remove) and a zip tie to secure it :-)

Sometimes folks forget physical mechanisms still exist on cars. Just disconnect the motor from the wing. I'm sure there's some type of linkage between the two.

Don't you mean down permanently? As I recall (have a TT RS now) you can keep it up permanently with the switch on the console. In any case, you can call Bjoern Marek at ABT US in his Miami office at 1-305-974-5958 and he can either provide or get you clarification. Met him this year at Quattro de Mayo and he is a super helpful guy.
