is there a difference between TTS and TT sline in Mk2 TT line?

Mk2 TT was available with two versions of 2.0 tfsi - a 211 hp and a 265 in the TTS. Is the TTS and TT sline same thing, or two different cars? and how do you tell them apart - TTS has badge front and rear? I assume it's the only one with 265 hp version of the motor? Is it tuned differently, or does it have different size turbo?

there is also TT sline competition series - which includes what? 19 in rims, fixed rear spoiler, seats, and what else? what is hp rating for this?

http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...2989-TT-vs-TTS explains some of the differences. TTS uses older version of motor EA113 - with timing belt and K04 turbo rated at 265 hp. The TT sline is EA888 motor, without timing belt issue. think it's got K03 turbo. sline is just cosmetic, with larger wheels and some other options.

not sure difference in brakes between the two - will look into that. seems to me that TTS - if you don't mind having to do timing belt is cheaper option if you want to tune it - capable of over 300 hp with downpipe and stage 2 tune. plus it's got upgraded 19 in rims and bigger brakes

not sure how people like the mag ride - seems to be some issues that people comment on

TTS uses same brakes at 3.2 model TT 340x30 front, 310x22 rear vs TT 2.0 uses 312x25 front and 286x12 rear (not vented). interesting - the Mk1 TT 225 uses 312x25 front and 256x22 rear (vented) so brakes on Mk2 TT are pretty similar to Mk1 225 model.

think I have most of the answer to my original question, other than some specifics about model year, and if there are changes through the Mk2 model range

Also, I there are some other differences like bushing hardness, S-Tronic software providing more rear bias and quicker to react, the leather has deviated stitching and extended leather over the instrument panel, plus on the arm rests in doors.

The Sport button controls exhaust note, interior sound, mag ride firms up noticeably, steering firms up, & throttle response increased. It's a much different experience (better in TTS) when you drive both back to back. When I bought mine 3 years ago, I was going back and forth on the TTS vs TT S-Line. Ended up with the TTS. Plus the TTS motor is more robust from what I've read: pistons, rods, valve train, and turbo are different.

I second what Optical TDI said. I was considering a nicely priced TT S-Line, but I plan on modding HEAVILY. The TTS has stronger valve springs and are less prone to "valve float". Plus I like the power gains offered by minimal initial tuning.

In 2013, we traded in our 2011 TT Roadster for our current 2013 TTS Roadster. The salesman suggested we might like this model better. I didn't study Audi at the time. I could feel right away the better stock performance and handling. My wife love the appointments in the Prestige model. We drove that one home that day.

About a year ago, we bought out the lease. I started studying the Audi landscape and realized I wanted a new TTRS Roadster....but guess what? None in the USA. So I kept this one, and now it's my play toy. APR Stage II+, along with some suspension and brake work and planning more.

So AUDI, listen up. Get me a new TTRS Roadster over here in the states!
