Radio Turns On But No Sound From Speakers

I'm having this issue where the radio and MP3 player is running but no sound is coming from the speakers. Checked the fuses and they're fine, it will come on intermittently and stay off. Any solutions short of changing the entire audio harness? The Radio and Speakers are stock. I'd appreciate any help.

How would I access the amp

Avant or saloon? Saloon is in the boot on the right hand side bolted to the the top of the wheel arch behind the carpet.

It was the AMP. Got the part, the replacement took about an hour.
