Overall I like most of Doug's videos and this was pretty good too. Spent lots of time on the tech though.

I see it gets a bit reduced score coz of not having electric adjustable seats. In Europe we can opt for it and get it with electric seats (about $1000) so whey don't you get it in the US?
The comparison with the A4 B5 was spot on and also one of the reasons I went with the RS3.

Was that MMI touch volume?? :D

They're different seats though, you can get those seats in an S3 here. I guess they decided to stick with the quilted ones for RS3.

Maybe I missed it, but he didn't even mentioned once what makes this car so special is its unique 5 cylinder engine. He may think it was a 2.5L 4 cylinder. LOL.

Agreed. This car is special b/c of it's engine (and sound) not because of the VC or MMI which he spent too much time on.

Missed that the inner 'turn signal' is a blind spot indicator.
Missed that the speed limit warning chime goes up to such a high speed, because it's for warning European drivers on the Autobahn that they're exceeding the speed rating of their winter tires.
Missed that you can customize the individual mode with all the settings you want (one of my biggest selling features).

The smile on his face on the end was worth it though. Yay launch control!

Solid review and accurate score in my opinion. Would have been nice if he'd focused more on the engine/performance, but for the standard consumer the tech is probably more interesting. I think the only score I disagreed with was the practicality being a 4. I'd make it a 5, but that's only because I've had an S3 for nearly 3 years and I've put it through some interesting scenarios that Doug isn't going to think of or encounter in testing a car for a couple hours.

Not a good review imo. He mostly covered the tech stuff and interior but didn’t go in depth with the mechanical aspects of the car. He didn’t even drive it for long. This guy should go and take some notes out of savagegeese video reviews on youtube.

Anyway like some of you say his video seemed more like a tech showcase than what the RS3 is really about...PERFORMANCE! 95% of the video tech the rest performance so sad. I was cracking up about the MMI ringtones really?

He only gave it one more point for practicality than an M2, like wtf. I wonder what a 10 for practicality would be lol, maybe an A380? But then it’s not practical it uses too much fuel.

Agreed. I consider fuel consumption, insurance premiums, rear seat room, trunk space, size of vehicle, ease to get in and out of all part of practicality. To me it's an easy 6...maybe 7 even.

For example id consider the RS3 more practical than an A8

I thought it was pretty well done considering what the intend of his reviews are....I especially like the insight on the goofy little plastic flaps behind the rear wheel...Now I know why they are there.

He made a point of saying how you can drive around with the sunroof open and the sun shade closed... DO NOT DO THAT!!!

That habit made the sunshade on my Q5 rip along the track due to the wind and it’s an $1800 repair for parts and labor to take out the entire headliner.

That, plus I now know why that stupid brake light needs to also light up with the sequential turn indicator, which makes things look out of sequence.
