    Brake Pad Dash Warning

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello!

So I installed new brake pads that don’t have sensors and wanted to know if there was a way to wipe out the dash warning light with VAGCOM

Anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks!

The easiest thing to do is simply cut the plug off the old brake pads. Solder or crimp the two ends together and plug it back in to the harness.

    Done.

    What old guy said^

or just go into instrument cluster and see what options there are for coding. I don't see anything on the RossTech wiki that says you can code it out.

This is probably the easiest solution if you don't wanna do the soldering yourself: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part.../002595ecs04a/

Plug it in and done. If you coded out the dash warning you would have an open connector that will get splashed with water and road grime. With this it'll keep the connector in good condition too.

There is really no need to do that. the ECS plug is the same as what was on your old pads. Make the circuit, tape it up and plug it in.

bring this back up. I just did my brakes and had a new wear sensor and my light was still one. I did the brake pad bypass and i am still getting the dash light. I only noticed 1 sensor on the front driver side. is there other ones ont he 09 s5? maybe it fell off and i didnt notice? I used OBD11 to check for errors and my brakes are not showing any code. What can i do to get this off!

There should only be one sensor on the driver's side front brake caliper. When I replaced my sensor, it was fine but the light on the dash stayed on until I added brake fluid.

Should be different dash lights for those issues. Red symbol is about brake fluid level low, or other serious brake system issue. Yellow symbol is about the pad depth low.
