What is worthwhile taking off an s4 for my a4 2.0

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Have a guy with an 05 s4 cabrio that he is parting out. I have a b7 a4 2.0 sedan and was wondering whats worth taking off it. Already considering:
    Rsb
Fsb (only because mine is f'ed up)
    Front and rear calipers

Was thinking of injectors, coil packs, front seats, hpfp, etc. Don't know if these or or anything else will fit or be an "upgrade". (I know seats will fit)

    Thanks in advance...

I'd normally say seats but hard to say with the cabrio if it's all plug and play and/or worth grabbing? Door blades are a no on cabrio doors as well.. Headlights depending on which ones he has and which you have, steering wheel could be an upgrade if you have the four spoke wheel currently.

His car doesn’t have a high-pressure fuel pump. The injectors won’t work in your car because the S4 is not direct injected. The coil packs aren’t an upgrade. The seats are marginally better in a Cabrio than an A4 because they’re not the B7 Recaro. There really isn’t much that’ll work other than the parts you mentioned and the front end body panels/headlights. If it has actual aluminum side mirrors, those would be an upgrade.

The S4 is not FSI, so the injectors will not work and it does not have a HPFP.

As for the brakes, for the front make sure you take the carrier as that is the main difference between the A4 and S4 fronts. Calipers are the same except for the interior curvature, the S4 calipers fit the 354mm rotor better. If the rotors are in good shape grab those as the A4 are 330mm and the S4 are 354mm. If they are too gone, you will have to buy new.

For the rears, the rotors are different between the A4 and S4 so if the rear rotors are in good shape, grab those otherwise you will have to buy new rear rotors since the S4 rotors are a bigger diameter and also thicker due to the venting..

The A4 dust shields will work for both the front and rear, but I think the S4 dust shields are a little different and will be a better match, so grab those as well.

Havent seen the car yet as its been raining, but its got the older headlights from pics. And as far as seats, mine aren't heated but are power, don't know if their would be any other plug and play issues. Mine are perfect but don't know if the s4 ones are different shape wise. Thanks btw.

Was looking @ audi part#s and the coil packs on the s4 seem to be the same as the r8 red tops people put on, so thats what made me think to take em. And front clip no good, different body. Why did you say the seats were marginally better if they arent recaros btw? And thank you as well.

I thought i remember seeing people getting something fuel related from s4/rs4 for their 2.0s. Maybe fpr or in tank pump, idr.

This I was looking into a little deeper to make sure i grabbed everything i could so as not to have to purchase new like you said. A4 shields fit, but if im gonna swap everything im gonna do them too. 3 more bolts, no biggie. Thanks.

Used coil packs are not really worth grabbing. Get the mirrors and put them up for sale. Get the shift knob, wheel, armrest and glovebox.

You will need the rear carriers as well as the front, and as mentioned, you will need the rear calipers, fronts are the same, you can use your stock A4 backing plates. And regardless of which rotors your A4 came stock with, the S4 345mm and 300mm are a very nice upgrade.

See what radio is in it, if it has a RNS-E in it, grab it. Even if you don't use it, someone here will want it.

If mirror caps are cheap thats what ill do, armrest and glovebox were a given, lol. Didnt think of shift knob though. Im gonna take the wheel if its in good shape and cheap, not really a big concern. Finally gonna see this thing tmrw. Thanks.

Thanks, like i said i figured out what i need from the brakes, basically everything but lines, grabbing it all, dust shields included. Lol, already asked him about rns-e, no good. Would have had it in the classifieds with the mirror caps monday morning.

I think you were referring to the RS4 controller for the fuel pump. I'm not sure its really an upgrade if you are stock every where else. I m not even sure what it does but I do see it mentioned here a lot.
