    Sports Differential: System Fault

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
A fault appeared tonight "Sports Differential: System Fault" on my 2013 S7. Happened as I was going around a bend at about 30kph. Goes away when switched off but comes back within 60sec of driving - seemingly when I go around a bend again. Just curious if anyone else has had this before and if so what the cause and solution was. Will be taking it into the dealer on Monday as I still have a factory warranty.

Same fault appeared on my car recently. Would not go away even after a few restarts until the car sat overnight. Next day it was gone and did not come back before I had to travel for work. The wife has been driving the car for the last couple of weeks and she hasn't mentioned any lights, but I'm curious as to what triggered the fault in the first place. Will hook up my vagcom when I get home to see what the code says.

Let me know if you find anything. I will post an update once the dealer has had a look at it tomorrow.

All software was updated but didn't solve the issue. Turns out it was the diff oil pump. Awaiting parts to be shipped from Germany. Another 2 weeks without my baby. :(

Did that fix it? I had the same fault pop up, VCD can't clear it and like you it comes back on after driving the car several hundred feet.

I've read it could be the temp sensors on it, but they have to be programmed to be used. I'm unsure why or how, still need to dig into it. I think these are part numbers:

How many miles on the car? And how frequently has the differential oil been changed? What oil was used?

After driving the car Sunday thru Wednesday morning, fault came on every time I got in the car....150 or so miles. Since the car had been down for almost 3 weeks for new front control arms, it was due for some fresh gas Wednesday afternoon. Oddly enough, with a full tank I have yet to get the fault to show back up after a few drives and 60 miles. Fingers crossed it just freaked out for a few days, but is odd it went away with a fill up.
