I should have a fully rebuilt and upgraded RAI K04R in the near future.

The general consensus thus far is the CTS with the APR file are the best combo.

The others are still good, but they really need a tune optimized for them and there is not an off the shelf tune offered for the K04R. I have heard good things about the HPA tune & turbo.

I am running the HPA tune with the JHM turbo and have been disappointed. The JHM turbo does not respond similarly enough to the HPA turbo for the combo to work well.

I'd really like a CTS kit, but I also don't wanna pay 2k for it unless I have to, especially when I have most of their catalog already. Lol. I might end up with Eurodyne and run a Frankenturbo file as it might be the closest if I get something other than CTS (likely hpa at this point). But, I also like that apr (I think) has recently released a file with two step and launch control as well. So, I'm still not sure. But I do know I need a k04 soon.

I’m currently getting the HPA k04 installed with the APR tune, should have it back late next week, I’ll let you know how it is. Going from stage II APR (CAI/TP/Exhaust). Sounds like I will lose low end torque but we will really notice it mid-high when the k03 would run out of breath

Unfortunately I'm looking to buy basically today. I might be getting a super good deal on a Frankenturbo, but still mostly undecided right now. My big "rush" is that my tensioner failed (my fault because the motor had oil consumption issues as well so I just sent it and was hoping I could hold out) so I have a new motor waiting to go in, just waiting on the new clutch kit and a decision on exactly which turbo I want. I might end up with Frankenturbo for now just for the deal, and changing it out at a later time if I'm not happy with it.

Well, if you do go Frankenturbo route, by most accounts it’s a solid k04 hybrid with pretty decent support/warranty.
If you buy new fr reputable retailer you’re good. If buying fr a private seller, new or used, just be sure to get all the paperwork I.e, orig receipt and warranty
