    Stoptech BBK Upgrade Ordered S3

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just put in a order from buybrakes.com for a front Stoptech BBK setup for my 2018 S3. I have the factory 19 inch wheels that I recently powder coated. The rep sent me a template, and I had a local mechanic look at it and he said I had about 4-5mm of clearance, he didn’t think it would be an issue. Went with the 4 Piston (355x32 rotor). Also got the upgraded components for the rear too.

Just loloking to to see if anyone else has done kind of upgrade.

    Thanks

This weekend, I am upgrading my 15' front brakes. Instead of going with a "true-BBK" I bought a TTR-S front brake setup. It's also a 4-piston caliper with a 370mm cross-drilled rotor. With TTR-S brake lines, this is suppose to be a PnP. I'll keep you posted as well as making a DIY video for others to watch/follow.

Looking forward to seeing how that turns out, I like that idea of using the Audi TTR-S product. Did you order that from Audi?

No, I bought it used from a local member who tried to retrofit it into his B7 S4.

OP wanted to follow-up with you regarding the TT-RS brake kit. I accomplished the task on Saturday without any major complications. The only modification I had to perform was enlargening the OEM brake line retaining hole. Since I used a TT-RS SS line setup, the head of the line is different, thus it did not fit properly. Thanks for a Dremel, fitment was a non-issue in the end.

I've driven about 100 miles in the rain since Saturday and can tell you, the larger rotors, 4-piston calipers, SS lines, and better fluid make a noticeable difference in the wet. I simple tap the brakes and the car just want to stop.

DIY video on my YT channel, The Audi S3 Fanatic should be up later this week. You should have no issues if you're planning on install the BBK yourself.

At my work our shop s3 has a brembo bbk on it. Looks pretty good and stops nice. And with a 355mm rotor you should still have plenty of room for a 19” wheel. Or are you talking offset wise?

Most of the 355mm Stoptech 6 piston kits we have done required a 3-5mm spacer. it really depends on the wheel though. Most OEM wheels require spacers despite what the template says.

Running this same setup on my 17 s3. Running 12mm spacers in the front.
