Tried to copy a song from a SD card which plays fine to the jukebox so I can use it as a ringtone. However, the copy command is grayed out. What gives ?

I recall reading in the manual the engine needed to be running for copying to work...?

The manual warned copying with the engine off could drain the battery. LOL

However, I do not believe I had the engine running. I'll give that try.

Mine is working fine... copied a few test files from SD1 slot just yesterday. By chance did you have the "write protected" tab switched on the SD card? Did you rule this out? Did you try a different SD card? Did you check avail space on Jukebox? If not showing space..could be storage issue. Is the actual music file in the correct format? Protected with Digital Rights Management (DRM)?

Why would the write protected tab on the SD card have anything to do with reading from it ? But no, it is not on since I wrote to it and never changed it. System says the Jukebox is empty - 10GB free. The files are M4A files and are not protected. They play just fine from the SD card.

Maybe it has nothing to do with anything..but you asked for help...and gave some symptoms and I was trying to help you troubleshoot with ideas (good or bad... off the cuff). All my files were MP3 and copied. Could be a file format issue unless the manual or your testing says otherwise. As I suggested earlier, try diff card, file format and ensure DRM isn't an issue. Circle back if you find the issue......others will benefit for those who use the search.

Sorry if I seemed snipey, didn't mean to.

So, I tried with the engine running and it worked ! So as said above, apparently the engine has to be running to copy media to the jukebox.

    Glad you found the issue!
