My experience with customizing these headlights involves baking them (to release the clear lenses of the headlight) then simply replacing the "ecode reflector" and repeating the steps in revers to "seal" the headlights back up pretty simple DIY the average handy person could probably do a set in under 2 hours.

depending on the look you're going for you may also want to use VAGcom to turn off amber corner lights since you will likely not be removing the bulbs just replacing the reflector.

Thank you! Of the newer images, what color is the set of reflectors that are on the stone counter-top? For me, its the last image when clicking on the page, and its definitely the darkest of the images that show only the reflectors. Sorry for all the questions, I am trying to find the closest OE match I can find.

Those are actually clear. The reason it looks dark is because the backing of the reflector there is a black piece that the reflectors snaps into. That’s why it looks darker.
I’m not sure if you can put the clear one in without that piece.

It's stated these do not work for the B8 S5. All B8 A5, S5 and RS5 use the exact same headlights. So in essence, these inserts will not work for an B8 A/S/RS5 due to their permaseal properties.

Yup these fit the B8.5 A5/S5/RS5. We email an instruction PDF ATL everyone who buys a set.

I'll go out on a limb here and assume the query was asked so as to gauge the complexity/difficulty of this DIY project. The short answer would actually be "NO" if I'm interpreting the reply correctly? I'll assume that perhaps if someone were to see the DIY install instructions before purchase, they might decide that this project is too difficult or complex for their skill level. And as such, could result in a potential loss of sale? By not being forthcoming about the install instructions prior to purchase, leaves me to believe that their is intent on not being fully open about the process.
I have played with headlight mods for almost 20 years and even with real glass headlights (300ZX), the "baking process" is a delicate one. Baking 100% plastic units is even more difficult.

I didn’t bake mine. I just used a blow dryer and had an extra set of hands to pull the housing apart.

the headlights can be cut open and modded. it is possible just a pain. Is there any possibilites that the B8 ones will be made? I am interested and willing to cut mine open. Would you need an orange reflector as a template? Thanks for providing this stuff to the audi community!

Yes we do offer a retrofit service. We don’t have a core for the whole lights but we do offer $10 back for your orange reflectors if you do the mod yourself.

Don’t have pics side by side but if you go to our Instagram @B8Drivers you’ll see a bunch of photos of cars that have done the ecode reflector swap.
