The ECS Vacuum Actuated Exhaust Cutout
The option between open and closed exhaust at the flip of a switch

Click HERE for your Exhaust Cutouts

Free up horsepower easily without sacrificing comfort with the ECS Vacuum Actuated Exhaust Cutouts!
A simple modification that allows you to flip between the factory exhaust routing through the full system or dumped out the open valve when you need extra performance.
Since the vacuum-actuated valve is not electronic, it will not stick or burn out, meaning you will enjoy this effective modification for a long time without worry.
No welding required, instant power, and a fraction the cost of a full exhaust system makes this the perfect upgrade for your German performance car.

Love the idea! Kind of pricey though, and doesn't match to factory exhaust tubing size.

Hmm $400 and maybe 4hp. I guess if your goal is to be the loudest it’s a great bargain.

Where would this cutout be installed on a B8.5? Before or after the mid-resonator? Also, our cars have 2 pipes all the way from the from the engine to the tips. I assume this piggy-backs just one of them?

It's going to sound like complete dog sh*t when these are open for literally very little gain.

i think they would need to be before the rear mufflers, dumped in the wheel wells? i can't think of where else they would fit.

@ECS - how does the vacuum actuation work? pardon my ignorance

Many of my guys are running 2 of them, as for where to put them it's up to you, I've seen them as far forward as well... right off the headers and as far back as right before the rear cans.

KRp220 no problem it's so complicated it's simple. The valves natural position is closed, vacuum is supplied via the vac lines on the motor and controlled to the valve by a pressure valve. When vacuum is appiled to the cutout valve it's pulled open giving you an exhaust dump. Basics of how they install can be found HERE.

    Bump! Has anyone installed these?

Also curious about just installing ONE of them lol. Can't think of a reason it would harm anything and it would be "half as loud" ?
