    Complete Paint Job Cost

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Due to being a daily driver for 70,000 miles, I've accrued several chips, dents, and pits on my car. I'm in the process of bidding out a complete paint job on my B8 S4, but I'm curious if anyone has an idea about what's a reasonable bid. I'm probably going to use a family owned shop I've used for a fender repair/paint in the past.

About 6000 to 7000 bucks, not worth it IMO

It's going to vary greatly I would say depending on where your responses are coming from. At the very least I think you should specify what you mean by "complete" paint job. Also what color is the car, how many dents, where, and how bad.

    This.

Does every panel have chips or scratches deep enough to require painting? Pictures would help

Depends on where you live and what color you choose.

Back home in CA, you can get it done anywhere from $2-4k.

I'd wrap it, how long are you planning on keeping the car? A complete paint job is going to be spendy, probably better off putting that money towards a new car honestly.

I would think the car would require a decent amount of PDR, touch up paint and prep work for a wrap to come out halfway decent if the paint is in that bad of shape

here in canada, i would say very least, 3k$cnd.. with no wet-sanding whatsoever.. for more complete job (with reduction of orange peel and such), your closer to 5-6k$

Wrap the car yourself, it’s not that hard. Cost you $400....

Probably not. The car is black and I think I can get away with leaving it alone. Depends on the overall quote, though, I guess.

The car is black now. I was thinking about going to one of the following colors (but still looking around):
    1. BMW Galvanic Gold
    2. BMW E-copper
    3. Land Rover Madagascar Orange

Dents are small on the hood. Some pits in the front bumper, etc. There is also a spot on the trunk lid that a bird pooped on that left a horrible streak in the pain that cannot be completely buffed/polished out.

It was my first car when I graduated, so I'm kinda attached at this point. It's otherwise in great shape. (But the RS7 looks amazing too...)

Did you do it yourself? I was thinking of tackling this myself.
