    Is it worth getting one ? I have a 2015 GTI as well as the 2018 RS3. What "worth while" coding changes have people really done ?

    unles you plan on logging i would go with obd11

    If you got in before they limited it to 5 VINs, VCDS was the way to go. With nearly the same functionality and portability, OBD11 is the way to go it seems and for much cheaper.

    Seriously, pick up a used shitty android phone off ebay that you can leave on airplane mode (except wifi and bluetooth) and use that. Most devices will be android 4.1 or later anyway. Power it off when you don't need it, and the battery should last a while, and can usually use a standard microUSB to charge (newer ones use USB-C).
