Several have reported no abnormal play on the shaft or visual 'pre' damage but soon after BOOM. Some clear oil screen cases have shown that if you replace turbo's without replacing a bad (dirty) oil screen it almost happens instantly...and makes sense. Basicly the turbo's run without oil or very low flow under VERY hot conditions. It doesn't take long to burn and wear/break stuff in those cases.
Currently just under 90.000km here (98.458km) and still pulling strong with no issues (after my latest modifications). If they didn't had less miles/kilometers on them, it would indeed be a good investment to replace the oilscreen. For now i keep my faith frequent oil intervals will delay stuff on my car.
*if i may believe what a turboshop told me, warmer climates (warmer yearly ambient temps) are one of the killers of turbo's (it builds more carbon and sludge he told).
Would of been interesting to add locations to the poll (but most members are from the US anyway, but afaik you have warm and cold regions also over there ).
Ambient temps are offcourse only one of the several parameters that influence carbon and sludge build afaik (short daily trips, keeping the car undriven for longer periods, not letting the oil cool down after a hard drive,...etc).
Not wishing bad luck on you, but with those kind of miles I'd be changing the screen. Unless you need an excuse to upgrade.

Hoping they last some extra time, but uhu secretly keeping it as an excuse to upgrade and remove/upgrade all at once (oil seperator is B version i think i spotted recently but also holding strong). The only fear i have is, IF they ever fail without an early warning, that pieces don't get past the charge cooler (haven't opened but i guess the dense mesh catches all debri...i hope). On the other hand, maybe i should bite the bullet and replace screen/valve/seperater...
Next week oil change with bardahl oil flush.

Well, that is interesting, this is revision 4 of the Turbo TSB, May 2018, now includes the Audi 2017 model years.

I only had the revision 1 & 2 Turbo TSB versions.
