Turn Signals Not Flashing But Hazards Work

My turn signals are turning on as solid lights, not flashing. If I activate the hazard switch they flash as normal.

Is this an issue with the flasher relay/hazard switch or the stalk on the steering wheel?

My gut says the former but wanted opinions before I order a new flasher relay.

You could try spraying some electrical cleaner into where the turn signal stock goes into the steering colum while you articulate the stock.
Crud gets trapped up in there and messes with the contacts.
Worked on my girlfriends c5 suprisingly

The hazard switch is the turn signal relay and the contacts are sticking. Just replace it.

Replace it with only the Audi/VW part, DO NOT use Vaico or any other brand unless you want your car to burn to the ground.

I did the DIY electrical contact fix on my original turn signal/hazard switch, lasted a year before it stopped working again. You can do the fix but it's easier and longer lasting to get a new one honestly.

As an aside. I mistakenly bought a Vaico hazard switch instead of an Audi part in one of my many huge ECS orders, I pulled into my garage one night and the hazards turned on out of nowhere. Started smelling burning and ripped the thing out and it was literally seconds away from burning it was so hot. It was not even 2 weeks old.

Both hazard and turn signal relays are built into a plastic box that is attached to the hazard button behind the trim.
