Any sources for Homelink retrofit other than Europrice?

They only have the silver colored units in. I am still annoyed that the car didn’t come with homelink.

Something to do with having the rain sensor, apparently there isn't enough physical room for both.

I researched this a little while ago and found this thread that covered an S3 DIY install using factory parts and also alternative discussions. To Potatohead's point, there might not be space up there.... but it seems feasible to me. I haven't poked around up there... and I don't have a guts to take an exacto to my headliner yet. Lol.

I’m familiar with Audi’s excuse but it doesn’t matter since it does in fact fit:

The problem I’m asking about is where to get the parts since the charcoal units have been on backorder for months.

Fits in the S3, but has anyone taken it out for the RS3 and checked / confirmed?

Home link rear view mirror seems like a good option.

Any confirmation of that working in an RS3?

No but I verified wiring to be the same with my s3 before and the layout for Golf r without dap.

Assuming rs3 non tech will be the same as Golf r without dap and rs3 with adaptive cruise control will be the same as Golf r with dap.

Is the mirror plug and play or do you have to disassemble a bunch of the overhead console?

The plug itself is plug and play (at least for non tech)

I haven’t tried the cover for the Audi compared to VW if it will be an issue as I have not tried the mirror.

I’m in Canada as well do harder for me to buy that part. Mirrors are only available in the states

So I was at first really, well pissed off the RS3 didn't come with this option. But with the home integration options available, the homelink option will be obsolete in the near future. Also if your going to drop more than $300-$400 on OEM parts to make it work, doesn't it make sense to spend $400 on a new WIFI based garage door opener instead?? Just my thought process..... Maybe I am nuts.. Feel free to bash me.... or poke holes in my thought process.

I live in a condo, can't replace the garage opener. I also have the gate opener for the shop that does my work. Can't have them update a commercial gate opener :)

I see no reason the HomeLink unit referenced in the listed link would not fit in an RS3. I seriously doubt there is any more stuff in the RS3 headliner than there was in my S3 Prestige Packaged car. I have all the electronics available for my car and the dealer installed the HomeLink for me. Fit perfectly like the A3's that come with that HomeLink. Works flawlessly. Just crazy that AofA hasn't solved this issue once and for all. Good luck.
