    RNS-E Bluetooth Questions

Hey guys, finally got my RNS-E installed and wired in my 2002 A6. I'm looking at the various bluetooth options for the RNS-E, and I'm having a hard time figuring out which one to get. Is there a way I can add an adapter that will let me make and recieve calls from the RNS-E like a factory kit, AND let me stream music?

I could be wrong but I think that the factory bluetooth never did music. Here are our aftermarket options.

    1. AUX only

2.AUX + Bluetooth Music WITHOUT song up & down controls from radio

    3. iPhone& Ipod through 30pin + AUX
    http://enfigcarstereo.com/DENSION_GW1LAI2.html iPod + AUX

    4. iPhone& iPod through USB + AUX
http://enfigcarstereo.com/ENFIG_AI2_IPDU_AUX.html iPod via USB + AUX

    5. iPhone& iPod through 30pin with song info in the cluster + Aux
http://enfigcarstereo.com/DENSION_GW17AC1.html iPod + Aux with song info in the cluster
Adding this allows you to swap the 30pin cable that comes with the unit above for a female USB for apple products.

    6. USB for memory sticks + Bluetooth with option for iPod and aux
http://enfigcarstereo.com/DENSION_GBL3AI2.html USB + Bluetooth with option for iPod and aux
You can add a 30 pin ipod cable to get charging and a little better audio.
    http://enfigcarstereo.com/DENSION_IPO5DC9_NC.html
Adding this allows you to add a female USB for apple products.
    http://enfigcarstereo.com/DENSION_LIA1GW0.html
Adding this allows you to connect an aux to the unit above.
    http://enfigcarstereo.com/DENSION_CABL_AUX.html
This is the same as above but with a female 3.5mm aux and a USB for charging.

For this last option the vehicle must have rolling steering wheel controls.
Or if it has the 3 on each side the bottom two must be left and right arrows.
    7. USB for Memory sticks and apple products. Bluetooth with song and call information (car must be programmed for call info).

It is strongly recommended that you get the item below with the item above. It adds the aux and reset button. So when the unit needs a reboot you don’t have to pull the radio.

Still a little unclear on functionality.

I would like to have the ability to stream music via Bluetooth from my android phone to the RNS-E, and see song information/control playback from the RNS-E or the steering wheel controls.

I would also like to be able to make and receive calls, have my phonebook load in the RNS-E, etc, like the factory Bluetooth setup.

Do any of your kits offer those two pieces of functionality?

Unfortunately none of the aftermarket adapters show call or music information on the cluster. It is all done using the cluster. And unless you update to a steering wheel with the mode button you only get call info. Feel free to call me it gets a little confusing when you do a retrofit.

Bluetooth with text, USB for iPod and memory sticks AUX with adapter below. full browsing of iPod on cluster.
http://enfigcarstereo.com/DENSION_GWP1AC1.html USB + Bluetooth aux with option for iPod that shows text.
It is strongly recommended that you get the item below with the item above because it has a reset button for the few times a year it needs to be rebooted (like a computer)
