That's absolutely awesome man. Just out of curiosity what is the story on your motor? Did you have oil consumption and it's been fixed, original motor with no issues or........?

Original engine was rebuilt by audi at 88k. Solid until 2nd chain gave out at 289k, i swapped a cpma from a 13 allroad then.

Did a flush last month really f-ed something from that, i assume the detergents knocked something loose and caused hard 1-2 engagements. Valve body swap totally resolved it tho. No slip, drives like new.

Keep it rolling man, see how high you can get it.

That's crazy mileage for a car under 10 years old, what's the story on why it's so high?

Which chain failed on you? Timing chain?

Was it actually the chain or the tensioner?

I recently switched jobs, i traveled for work. Allover U.S. Illinois and west. Now im a car dealer specializing in audis. The main chain failed, new style tensioner and new style chain. Like most things that fail on this car its not normal.

Very impressive. I think it's pretty safe to say you have highest mileage B8. That's a lot of miles per year. I average about 5k and this is my daily haha

So 200k on the new style chain and new revision tensioner. I think it’s safe to say audi got the new revisions right after so long. That’s how long the original motors should’ve lasted

I can't touch 330k, but I wonder where I stand... I have a 2012 A4 2.0 TFSI with around 168k on it, and as far as I know the engine (except the turbo) and transmission is all original.. I have the 6-speed manual transmission though, so I'm not sure exactly what difference that makes.

    Any thoughts?

    What happened to the turbo?

Amanp786, it had the wastegate rattle issue. Really badly, too. If you haven't heard of it, the turbo wastegate stops sealing, which means not only does it make an annoying sound, it doesn't make boost at low revs. I worked at an automall for a short period that had an Audi dealership in it, so I used my employee discount to get it fixed (and have a CTS Turbo high-flow cat and downpipe installed, too). Other than that, all I know is that the PCV had been replaced under warranty by a previous owner. So I have to think the bottom end and timing stuff hasn't been touched.

I just calculated that it will take me about 22 years to hit 330k miles. In the year 2040. I wonder if it will be hard to find a good used B8.5 engine at that time? I’m hoping timing chain tensioner technology will have progressed quite nicely by then.

We need more miles! This needs to be like some Top Gear challenge across the Botswana desert.

Audi only gets driven about 4,000 miles a year.

There was a forum member that posted here about hitting 290K before the turbo blew. After reading that thread, it gave me a tad more confidence in my ‘ 09 Avant.
